Audi created the e-tron Vision Gran Turismo for the Gran Turismo videogame on PlayStation 4. Today, however, the company revealed a concept model of the electric car that will be used as a race taxi at the Formula E championship later this week. Three electric motors, each with an output of 200kW, will move the car – two on the rear axle and one on the front. This gives the beautifully designed car 815hp and a 0-62mph of 2.5 seconds.

No range has been announced for this model, but it is only being used as a race taxi, so this should only really be looked at as a Design Study rather than a production model (which is why we referred to it as a concept car earlier).

The e-tron Vision Gran Turismo will hit the Formula E track in Rome on Saturday as a race taxi, while some Audi customers will be able to take a ride in the car to get a feel for its power.
