Mad Max: Fury Road

Before they filmed Mad Max: Fury Road, they got a photographer in to document all seventy-five cars, trucks and bikes before they got dirty out on the sets.

That photographer was John Platt, and he’s now shared his favourite selection of the Mad Max cars he documented. In the photographs, you can see the extensive modifications made to the [genuinely] fully working cars. Platt’s photos bring out the perfection in the design of the cars as they sit atop pedestals in all their glory.

The designers who worked on the cars have done an amazing job, as they already look wartorn, rusted and unloved – however, this is still before the cars had been used in the harsh terrain seen in the film.

It’s hard to believe that these were actual, working cars with real drivers, but that just makes them even more appealing to us!

An amazing look at the cars of Mad Max: Fury Road in a rare moment of zen that isn't seen in the feature film.
