Mercedes-Benz put on a crowd-pleasing display this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
On the 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill, the most powerful production cars from Mercedes-AMG were in action – from the A 45 AMG, to the C 63 S Saloon and the mighty GT S with its exhausts configured to their loudest setting. Serving as a course car was the G 500 4x4², its portal axles allowing an elevated view of proceedings. One of just two in existence, and powered by a version of the 4.0-litre V8 seen in the C 63 and GT, with quad, side exit exhausts, it proved to be a crowd favourite.

The new Mercedes-AMG A 45 made its public debut today on the Goodwood Hill, with the Chairman of AMG, Tobias Moers, behind the wheel – marking the very first time the 381 hp machine had been seen in action, just hours after it was unveiled.
More new cars from Mercedes-AMG were shown at Goodwood than ever before, as the Festival of Speed marked the UK debuts of the new GLE 63 S Coupé as well as the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT3 racer. Launched this year, and appearing at Goodwood for the first time, the Mercedes-AMG GT C 63 S Saloon, the S 63 AMG Coupé and the GT S Edition 1, packing an incredible 1,605 hp between them, were among the favourites at the Festival of Speed.
