Audi will be unveiling their latest motorsport vehicle, the updated Audi RS5 DTM at Geneva Motor Show next week likely to show off the power of the car before announcing a consumer model later in the year.
Dieter Gass, Head of Audi Motorsport says that the new Audi RS5 DTM models have a “throatier sound and are faster.” Audi prepared for the new DTM season in a three-day test on the Portuguese race track at Portimão. It was the last test with an interim car before the world premiere of the new car that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7.
After an intense few days fine tuning the aerodynamics and technology, the team has now submitted the final design of the new RS5 to the motorsport authority, so the model on show at Geneva will be the final model that will be raced on the track.
“The cars have a throatier sound and are faster. I feel that’s even visible on track.”

Many things in the 2017 DTM will be new: more engine power, less downforce, a more efficient Drag Reduction System (DRS) and softer tires, which may no longer be pre-heated either. All this is intended to make the DTM races even more thrilling and varied for the spectators.
We're looking forward to seeing the new RS5 DTM at Geneva Motor Show when we land at the event next week.
