With the all new 3 Dr version already in the showrooms and slowly but surely filling up the order books, Audi have decided to unveil the new 5 Dr Sportback version.
No surprises here from Audi in terms of the looks, but they have stretched the chassis slightly compared to the outgoing model. Audi have also managed to shave 198 pounds of the weight, mainly down to extended use of the ultra light/strong steel and aluminium parts throughout.
Engine wise, it looks like Audi will launch with the new 2.0 TDI 150ps (106 C02) and slowly introduce the 1.6 TDI 105ps (99 C02), the rapid 1.4 TFSI 122ps (120 C02) and lastly the 1.8 TFSI S-Tronic 180ps (130 C02).
A good range, but I expect the two diesel engines to be the most popular - with great performance and low C02 emissions set to be a winning partnership!
I personally think this will be a big hit when it lands in the UK showrooms sometime next year. I expect continued strong residual values from the main finance houses to ensure that this car will be very popular amongst the contract hire and leasing enthusiasts.
