Mercedes has announced the Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63 S - 563/604bhp cars capable of switching between 4WD and RWD to enable a 'Drift Mode'.

Mercedes has announced the Mercedes-AMG E63 and it comes with a drift mode for those who like shredding tyres. The new saloon has 604bhp and gets additional power from switching between 4WD and RWD. Mercedes-AMG E63 A full debut is scheduled to take place at Los Angeles Motor Show in November, but the pictures we've seen show a typical Mercedes-AMG design, but it's what's under the hood that interests us. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, and it packs a punch. Mercedes-AMG E63 The car gets 563bhp unless you opt for the E63 S model, which adds additional power up to 604bhp. 0-62mph is either 3.4 seconds or 3.5 seconds depending on the model you choose as well, but both are quicker than Merc's AMG GT-R. Mercedes-AMG E63 Selecting 'Race' mode and performing a series of actions puts the car in to 'Drift Mode'. This turns the E63 in to a 100% rear-wheel drive car ready to slaughter your tyres. The order books on these £75-85k cars should be open in January.
