In a world debut at the Frankfurt motor show, Volkswagen has revealed the new, second-generation Tiguan. In addition to showing the standard SUV, the German manufacturer also shared a new GTE plug-in hybrid with a 600 mile range.
As with most new Volkswagen Group cars, the Tiguan benefits from the MQB architecture, reducing weight by 50kg compared to the previous model and improving passenger and luggage space.

The real game-changer was the arrival of the GTE plug-in hybrid, following the pattern of the Golf and Passat versions. An 85kW electric motor is paired with a 130bhp combustion engine for a 30-mile EV range. A solar panel roof also generates an average of 620 miles of carbon neutral EV range a year, even in cloudy Britain!
The second generation Tiguan is expected by ready to order by the end of 2015. Keep on eye on our website for the latest Tiguan prices and info.
