Hyundai Reintroduces N Line to the i20 Supermini Range for 2024

The Hyundai i20 supermini is getting the sporty N Line trim added back for 2024. The i20 had a facelift back in 2023 but the N Line was left out until recently.

In 2023, Hyundai endeavoured to enhance the formula of the popular i20 supermini with a mid-life update of the third-generation model, though the introduction of the sportier N Line variant was delayed until now.

As the i20 N hot hatch is no longer available for new orders, the onus falls upon the N Line iteration to inject some dynamism into the lineup.

While the sporty aesthetics of the compact car have received a subtle refresh, it's not as extensive as those seen in the Advance, Premium, and Ultimate trims.

Previously located within the grille, the logo now sits above it, just preceding the bonnet, in the aforementioned versions. However, the N Line maintains its previous front design, albeit with a fresh grille insert.

Changes around the rear remain absent, but Hyundai has introduced a fresh set of 17-inch alloy wheels and incorporated four new paint options. This includes Lumen Grey Pearl, Meta Blue Pearl, Vibrant Blue Pearl, and Lucid Lime Metallic.

Internally, things remain consistent, featuring the familiar 10.25-inch touchscreen, accented with red stitching throughout the cabin, and accentuated with an N Line-specific leather steering wheel.

For the 2024 refresh, multi-colour ambient lighting has been integrated along with new LED interior lights. Additionally, the N Line boasts sport seats and aluminium pedals, enhancing its sporty appeal compared to the standard i20.

Similar to all versions, the N Line receives enhancements to its infotainment system, now capable of receiving over-the-air updates, USB type-C ports, and a second-generation eCall system.

Hyundai has yet to disclose the powertrain for the N Line; however, it's speculated that it might follow suit with the non-hybrid 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine offering 99bhp, coupled with the choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, akin to the rest of the i20 range.
