The SEAT Leon is getting a significant update for 2024, revving its engine with new powertrain options and revamping its interior with a tech-focused overhaul.
New exciting and economical engines
Under the hood, the Leon gets a shot of adrenaline with a fresh lineup of engines. A new 1.5 TSI engine replaces the previous 1.0 TSI, offering a bump in power (115PS, up 5PS) and torque (220 Nm, up 20 Nm). This efficient option pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Drivers seeking a balance of performance and efficiency can choose from two new mild-hybrid (eTSI) options, both 1.5 litres and available in 115PS and 150PS variants. These come exclusively with a smooth 7-speed DSG transmission, combining a 48V mild-hybrid system for an extra boost of power and improved comfort when accelerating.
For those prioritising eco-friendly driving, a next-generation plug-in hybrid (eHybrid) engine joins the lineup. This powerhouse delivers 204PS and 350Nm, combining a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with a 115PS electric motor and a 19.7kWh battery pack.
With an electric-only range exceeding 100km, the eHybrid Leon offers guilt-free excitement and impressive efficiency. Recharging is convenient with DC fast-charging up to 50kW or 11kW AC wall box charging at home.
Tech upgrades inside and out
The mid-life update extends beyond the engine. The SEAT Leon embraces the digital age with a refined exterior featuring optional matrix LED headlamps, a first for the brand's hatchback range.
Inside, the focus is firmly on improved technology. A new and enhanced human-machine interface (HMI) takes centre stage, seamlessly integrated with the digital cockpit behind the steering wheel.
The infotainment system gets a significant upgrade too, now available in a standard 10.4-inch touchscreen (up from 8.25 inches) or an optional 12.9-inch version. Both boast a sleek, retro-illuminated slider for intuitive control. And for added convenience, the Leon now features wireless fast-charging capabilities of up to 15W with built-in cooling technology to keep your devices from overheating.
Designed, developed, and produced in Barcelona, the revamped SEAT Leon is poised to hit the production line this month (May 2024) will deliveries coming very soon.
