One of the world’s most recognised car manufacturers, a Volkswagen lease is highly recommended as they have produced some of the world’s most popular cars.
Volkswagen translated from German to English is quite literally "people’s car", meaning there’s a Volkswagen for every lifestyle, personal taste and budget.
Volkswagen's slogan used to be "Das Auto" simply meaning "The Car". Along with their brand name, together they represented "The People's Car", as VW focused on making their cars reliable and affordable. In other words, they wanted to mass-produce cars for everyday people who needed dependable and economical transport.
Volkswagen was formed back in 1937 in Wolfsburg Germany and was originally operated by the German Labour Front. These days, Volkswagen is known as the Volkswagen Group, which comprises several world-famous manufacturers such as Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Skoda and SEAT.
Volkswagen’s history is rich in innovation and they’ve pushed the car industry to continuously evolve. They've churned out high-quality vehicles such as the iconic Beetle, Bug and Golf year after year.
This cemented them as a car manufacturer that had the trust of the people. VW has sold over 22 million Beetles since 1938, which makes it one of the best-selling vehicles of all time.
VW even owns the motorcycle brand Ducati, as well as VW commercial vehicles which include a range of popular vans such as the Caddy, Crafter and Transporter.
Volkswagen lease offers are plentiful and affordable thanks to the sheer amount of ranges and models available at low-cost rates.
With many premium models such as hatchbacks, estates, saloons and SUVs, you’ll be spoilt for choice when selecting a Volkswagen lease.
The Volkswagen lease range has a car for every occasion. If you’re after a small but reliable daily runner, the Volkswagen Golf hatchback is world-famous and is easily one of the best cars available.
Even smaller still you have the Volkswagen Polo and Up. With the Polo being a smaller Golf and the Up being an affordable supermini.
If you have a family and need something with space, you have several crossover and SUV options such as the adaptable VW T-Roc, the versatile T-Cross, the ever-popular VW Tiguan and its 7-stater sister Allspace, and finally the ridiculously well-equipped Touareg. The VW Taigo is a recently released car that is an affordable crossover SUV.
Looking into the executive saloon area you have the attractive and sporty Arteon which includes a Shooting Brake (estate) model, as well as the classic Passat estate. And finally, if unadulterated thrills are your thing then you have the ridiculously powerful Golf R along with its little brother, the famous Golf GTI and the diesel GTD variant.
VW is used to being an innovator in the market so it's no surprise they have already brought out several EVs (electric vehicles) focusing on eMobility and sustainability. Models like the Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback and ID.4 SUV have proven exceptionally popular thanks to their range and build quality.
Recently, VW released (and to critical acclaim) the ID.Buzz microbus which is a throwback to the 1950s T1 camper van.
They also have the ID.5 SUV coupe now in their repertoire, which combines sportiness with a roomy interior. The ID.5 SUV-Coupe offers similar space to the ID.4 but comes in a sporty sloping coupe rear which looks aggressive and sleek.
In 2024 Volkswagen released the ID.7 saloon, which is a luxurious EV with a host of potent motors and excellent range.
Volkswagen has pushed the envelope when it comes to technical innovations and safety. With nearly every car scoring highly on the Euro NCAP safety tests and a plethora of modern features that make driving easy, it’s a wonder Volkswagen has achieved a reputation for being a premium car manufacturer.

Anyone can lease a Volkswagen, provided they pass the required credit checks to be eligible and have a full UK driving licence. All of our Volkswagen models require a credit check and we generally advise our customers to have a good credit history in order to have the best chance of passing. When it comes to personal contract hire, this is the best type of contract for those after a Volkswagen lease for everyday use. Those who require a Volkswagen lease for their business activities will need to look into business contract hire, as this suits individuals who need it for work.
It's worth leasing a Volkswagen if you appreciate cars with a good value for money, as well as liking the VW lineup. The VW lineup includes iconic and popular cars such as the Golf hatchback, Passat estate, T-Cross and T-Roc compact SUVs, and finally, the larger Tiguan and Touareg SUVs. Volkswagen cars are known for being fuel-efficient, potentially leading to lower running costs, especially with the option of hybrid or electric models. Speaking of electric models, VW now has an extensive range of successful EVs (electric vehicles). This includes the popular ID.3 hatchback, ID.4 SUV, ID.5 SUV-coupe and the recently released ID.7 premium saloon. VW cars are focused on being fun to drive while being practical and versatile. They often come with a range of engine options and a host of safety features which are second to none. You also have performance variants of normal cars, such as the potent Golf R or the large but sporty Tiguan R. The GTX models are VWs EV performance models, with the ID.5 GTX being a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that is designed to thrill.
With a Volkswagen lease, there is something for everyone. VW has done an excellent job in ensuring there is a vehicle to suit every occasion and situation. Starting from the smallest you have the popular VW Up and Polo superminis which are great city and urban cars. It also comes with a GTI variant which is a performance model boasting around 200 bhp. From there, you have the now iconic Golf hatchback (which also includes an estate model) which offers a bit more space. The Golf also comes in GTI, GTD and GTE variants which offer more performance. You also have executive cars such as the Arteon and Passat which are available in saloon and estate models respectively. Moving into the compact SUVs you have great all-rounders like the T-Cross, Taigo and T-Roc which are popular options. If you need more space you can move up to the larger VW Tiguan and Touareg. The Tiguan Allspace offers a 7-seater for large families. Volkswagen has been expanding on their electric cars as well, with the ID.3 remaining one of the most popular electric hatchbacks on the market.
Our Volkswagen lease contracts are typically from 24, 36 and 48 months long. In other words, two, three or four-year contracts. More often than not, 48 months is typically the smallest monthly payment, as it's spread across a longer amount of time. But this is not always the case and sometimes deals can be cheaper on 24 or 36-month contracts. It's best to check every single option when customising your Volkswagen lease contract, just to ensure you're getting the best deal for your budget.
As part of your contractual obligation, your vehicle will have to be serviced at a Volkswagen dealership once per year or when your VW tells you to have your vehicle booked in for a service. You can often include a maintenance package as part of your contract, meaning for a bit extra per month, your service fees are paid off monthly rather than in a lump sum once a year. You can read about the manufacturer's warranty here.
Stable Vehicle Contracts only offers brand new Volkswagen vehicles when it comes to leasing, both personal and business contract hire. Some leasing companies do offer used leasing deals but unfortunately, we do not. However, this should not be a problem thanks to the affordable costs of leasing. If you're after an in-stock vehicle, as used vehicles often are, our in-stock section on our website shows you all the current Volkswagen cars available with quick delivery. We're also part of a Volkswagen dealership group, meaning we can supply Volkswagen far quicker than other leasing companies can when it comes to stock vehicles.
This depends on the deals at the time. Typically, the smaller cars are often the cheapest Volkswagen cars to lease. An example would be the Volkswagen Up, Polo and Golf often commanding the lowest prices when it comes to lease deals. However, we often get very good deals on VWs like the T-Cross, Taigo, T-Roc and Tiguan that would rival the price of a Golf per month. The quickest way to find the cheapest Volkswagen lease deal is to scroll back to the top of this page and select your budget using the filter, or select the 'Price: Low to High' button on the right-hand side. Alternatively, signing up for our newsletter or following our social media means you can keep up to date with new VW lease deals when they come out.
Volkswagen is part of the Volkswagen AG, known as Volkswagen Group or VAG for short. If you're after a similar German car with a classy feel, rivals such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are a great choice, as they offer a close build quality to VW. You also have brands like Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA, Renault and Volvo who often have similarly priced cars, also with a similar build quality to Volkswagen.
This is entirely dependent on the deals at the time. Sometimes there are some exceptional deals, with Golf models as low as £220 per month. Or a VW Tiguan for as low as £280 a month. However, these are often time-dependent, as stock is released and then once sold the prices rise again. The best way to keep an eye on the best and cheapest deals is to sign up for our newsletter or follow our social media channels. Then you can keep up to date with new VW lease deals when they come out.
These are all terms that you will see when it comes to Volkswagen vehicles For example, a Volkswagen Arteon model might be a 2.0 TDI 200 4Motion R-Line 5dr DSG. We'll explain what this means. 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 refers to the size of the engine, 2.0-litres in this example. 200 is the number of bhp (horsepower) the engine produces. TSI stands for a petrol engine, while TDI stands for a diesel engine. 4Motion means the car has all-wheel drive (AWD). And finally, DSG simply means automatic gearbox. So the car in the example above is a 2.0-litre diesel 200 bhp all-wheel drive automatic.
Yes, Volkswagen cars generally have a good reputation for safety, as do most German-made vehicles thanks to their refined production facilities and long years of experience. Many Volkswagen models receive high ratings from independent organizations like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US and the Euro NCAP in Europe. Volkswagen cars also come with the latest safety tech such as an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning. You should always feel safe when driving a Volkswagen, whichever car you choose to lease.
